Why would you be worried to play this out? If it's leaked and you have it already, the damage has already been done, theres no going back.

Because you don't play out dubs you're not supposed to have.

I don't understand that mindset at all... so I'm going to turn down free advertisement just because someone I didn't *expressly* give the tune to played it out live? I just don't get the producers mindset. If you give your new music out to unsavory people, you should NOT be surprised to hear that it leaked or is being traded around. I can say with 100% certainty that when I make a banger and give it out to a few select people, I will be more than flattered when I hear that my tune is being traded around, that means I have met/exceeded the demand of the consumers. I mean, that is just basic economics. Sure, it sucks that a big track is being traded/leaked, but if you only have one song worth being hyped, you have much larger problems than that one track.

It is absolutely a double edged sword, one that many producers recognize whilst they are choosing who they trust with their dubs.
